1. Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2.Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3.But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4.That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6: 1-4

God rewards those that do not boast their charities in order to draw attention to themselves. If you can give without expecting anything in return, even recognition it shows a Godly attitude toward your fellow man. It doesn't matter who you give charities to but it is best to find the greatest need.

Buy a gift card at a local Grocery like Kroger and mail it anonymously. That way they can pick for themselves what they want to eat. Get the highest amount you think you can can afford. A great idea is to include a simple card saying it is a gift from GOD.

 I need to mention that doing good deeds in the name of God will not save your soul. You must believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and accept him into your heart to be saved. Giving alms is a way to increase your rewards in Heaven.
